One Colour Printing

One-colour printing, also known as spot colour printing, uses a single Pantone ink for simple, cost-effective branding. It is the most economical printing technique and works well for straightforward logos, return addresses or single-line messaging. Digital Printing

Digital printing uses the CMYK process to print directly onto envelope substrates with no printing plates required. It is the most practical technique for shorter runs and allows for full-colour results at cost-effective quantities. Unlike lithographic printing, digital can also print in white ink, making it suitable for printing on dark-coloured envelopes where standard inks would not show clearly. Ideal for quantities from 50 units upward.

Two Colour Printing

Two-colour printing uses two specific Pantone inks to reproduce your brand colours with precision. It is a cost-effective alternative to full colour printing for brands with defined brand guidelines and logos that use two or fewer colours. Particularly well-suited to corporate communications, legal firms, financial services and businesses where brand colour consistency is a priority across high-volume mailings.

Full Colour Printing

Full colour printing, also known as four-colour process or CMYK printing, combines cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks to reproduce photographs, complex graphics and detailed brand imagery accurately. This technique delivers vibrant, rich results and suits brands with multi-colour logos, gradient designs or photographic elements. The most versatile option for maximum visual impact across a wide range of envelope formats.

Foil Printing

Foil printing, also known as foil stamping, adds a metallic or holographic effect to your envelope design. What Is The Best Printing Technique For My Artwork?

This depends on your artwork and the result you want to achieve. One and two colour printing (using Pantone inks) suits simple logos and brand marks. Full colour CMYK is best for multi-colour graphics and photography. Digital printing works well for short runs and white ink on dark envelopes. Foil stamping is the choice for luxury or premium finishes. Our team will advise you on the most suitable option after reviewing your artwork.

I Don't Have Finalised Artwork, Can You Help?

Yes. Our print team can collaborate with you to develop artwork that achieves what you need. When getting in touch via the quote form, simply let us know that you require design assistance and we will take it from there.

Do You Provide Printed Proofs Before Production?

We provide a detailed PDF proof of your design before production begins on every order. This allows you to review the layout, colours and text before anything is committed to print. Physical printed proofs are not available due to the setup costs involved in the printing process. If you would like to see a sample of our printing quality, email your address and the technique you are interested in to sales@postalpackaging.com.

Is There A Minimum Order Quantity For Printed Envelopes?

Yes. Envelope printing starts at a minimum of 50 units and can scale up to any quantity your business requires. Larger print runs typically reduce the per-unit cost significantly. If you have a specific quantity in mind, include it in your quote form and we will price accordingly.

How Quickly Can I Receive My Printed Envelopes?

We quote up to 9 working days from approved artwork and cleared payment, with delivery in as little as 10 working days in total. Turnaround can vary depending on the printing technique and quantity. If you have a specific deadline, mention it in your enquiry and we will confirm whether it can be met.

Which Envelope Sizes Can Be Custom Printed?

We can print on a wide range of envelope sizes and formats including DL, C6, C5 and C4, as well as board-backed envelopes and specialist formats. If you have a specific size or envelope type in mind, include it in your quote enquiry and we will confirm availability and suitability for your chosen printing technique.

What File Formats Do You Accept For Artwork?

We accept print-ready artwork in PDF, AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS and high-resolution TIFF or PNG formats. Artwork should be supplied at 300dpi with bleed where required. If you are unsure whether your file is suitable, include it with your enquiry and our print team will assess it and advise on any changes needed.

Is Tracked Delivery Included With Printed Orders?

Yes. All printed envelope orders are dispatched using a tracked DPD service. You will be notified by email with full tracking information at the point of dispatch.

Can I Use A Discount Code With A Printed Order?

Discount codes apply to plain stock orders only and are not valid on bespoke print or custom packaging enquiries.

Do You Offer Stock Holding For Printed Envelopes?

Yes. We offer stock holding and call-off services so that your printed envelopes are always available when you need them without requiring a full order each time. Ask about this option when getting your quote and we can include it in the proposal.
